As per the season you have to change your habits, routine and health
regimes too. Prepare yourself for summer well in advance. It is time for
going out and hitting the sunny and sandy beaches. I am sure all your
short dresses and swimming costumes are out by this time and you are
ready to change straps sandals with closed shoes. But be ready to change
your daily routine too.
Exercise in cooler temperature
Don’t
skip your exercise plan because it is too hot to work out instead start
your exercise early in the morning when sun is not so hot or exercise
indoors, either at home or in gym where temperature can be controlled.
If you are not an early bird then you can exercise even in evening or
night. Drink plenty of water while exercising; carry a water bottle with
you if you are going out for jogging or exercising.
Drink enough fluids
During
summer; you sweat even more; so hydrate yourself by taking plenty of
water. Avoid drinks which are high in caffeine. Iced tea, fresh juices,
coconut water, lemonade there are plenty of options to hydrate you.
Don’t indulge in ice-creams too much as it is fattening and high in
sugar content. Take water which is just in right temperature, taking
very cold water can lead to sore throat.
Skin care
Always
apply sunscreen with SPF 15 or more, whenever going out in the sun. In
summer your skin doesn’t get as dry as winters so avoid using too much
moisturizer; it might lead to pimples and oily skin. Don’t forget to
scrub while taking bath. Start scrubbing from feet coming towards the
shoulders. Use gentle scrubbing action on face. Remember to get a
pedicure once or twice in a week to keep your feet beautiful and soft so
you can show off your feet in open sandals.
Personal hygiene
It
is advisable to have a shower whenever you have come from sun or had
sweat a lot. It will not only refresh you but avoid bacterial growth on
your skin too. Always exfoliate your skin while taking bath. It will
remove dead skin cells and help in the growth of new healthy skin.
Eating Healthy
Avoid
eating oily and full cream dairy products during summer, it is heavy on
your digestive system instead eat lots of salad and fruit. Eat plenty
of fresh leafy vegetables, seasonal fruit and fish. Indulge in foods
which are high in omega 3 fatty acid and antioxidants. Eating right food
in right weather prepares you to combat the negative effects of
seasonal changes. Red tomatoes, cucumber, oranges, carrot, salmon,
walnuts are few food items which is highly recommended in summer.
Insects and flies
Due
to high temperature, growth of insects and flies also increases and it
can affect your health. Use mandatory precautionary methods to avoid
insect bites. Use repellant creams while outdoors and use mosquito nets
or spray inside the house. No need to say with your personal hygiene;
cleanliness at home and in neighborhood is also very necessary.
Dress right
Last
but not the least, dressing right not only make you look smart but help
you in keeping yourself comfortable too. During summer try to wear full
sleeves to cover your arms as it is the most vulnerable part for
tanning. Wear light colored loose outfits because they are comfortable
and help air to pass through your skin, so you don’t sweat so much and
your skin cools off fast. Wear hat to cover your face from direct UV
rays. Invest in high quality sunglasses to protect your eyes.
